Gathering For Peace ( #317)

When: Thursday evenings at 7:00pm

Suggested Donation: $2 - $5 in donation box


During these troubled days of terrorism and war, Cobblestone Springs offers an evening each week of peaceful quiet and prayer for peace. The Quaker-style prayer provides ample time for quiet reflection and sharing and usually lasts a little over an hour.


Mondays at Cobblestone ( #370)

When: Monday afternoons, 1-2:30; January 2,16, & 30; February 13 & 27; March 12 & 26; April 9 & 23; May 7 & 21; June 4 & 18

Suggested Donation: $7.00 per session (members: $6.00)


A reflection-discussion group for women using the book Perseverance by Margaret J. Wheatley. Each session will focus on a particular section of the book. The closing June 18th session will be dish-to-pass picnic lunch at noon. It is not necessary to attend every session.


Tuesdays at Cobblestone ( #377)

When: Tuesday afternoons 3:00 - 4:30; January 17 and 31, February 14 and 28, March 13 and 27, April 10 and 24, May 8 and 22

Join this new reflection/discussion group which will begin with the book The Hidden Heart of the Cosmos by Brian Swimme. With the author, the group will explore the wonder of the cosmos, the spirituality of ecology, and what it means to be human in the world as we understand it today. Each session will focus on a section of the book. It is not necessary to attend every session.


A Time for Quiet ( #378)

When: Wednesday mornings, 9:30 - 12:30; February 22, April 25, June 27, August 22

Facilitator: Anne Alderman SSJ

Suggested Donation: $5 per session ($4 for members)


A time of quiet prayer for those who long for space and time for solitude. The group provides support for the individual’s prayer. The morning begins with a brief guided reflection. Two hours of silence and solitude follow. The morning ends with half an hour of silent prayer together.


AVP Mini Workshop for 12 Step Participants ( #379)

When: Saturday, February 25; 12 noon - 6 pm

Facilitator: Pamela Hawkins, Frank Gobles and Mary Beth Gamba

Suggested Donation: $30 (members $28)


This mini AVP workshop is an opportunity to get a hands-on feel for Alternative to Violence Project. The Alternatives to Violence Project provides a space to practice transforming conflict into win-win outcomes. Conflict becomes an opportunity for greater understanding. AVP is a combination of light-hearted activities and more reflective exercises that provide a place for laughter and learning to meet. A workshop is not a lecture, not therapy, but a lot of heart, joy and solution making. A soup and salad lunch will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass for a pot luck supper together.

Memoir Writing Workshop ( #380)

When: Tuesday afternoons, 1:00-3:00; March 20 and April 3

Facilitator: Steve Coffman,local writer

Suggested Donation: $15 per session (members $12)


A two-part workshop on memoir writing with the first session laying out of the elements of the memoir with examples and the second session a discussion of examples of memoir writing by participants.


Faith Coming Alive ( #381)

Greta will share her experiences as a Quaker traveling to the Republic of Georgia to support the Quaker community there and to bring the Alternative to Violence Project to that country.


Introduction to Reiki ( #382)

When: Saturday, March 31, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon

Facilitator: Greta Micker, Third Degree Reiki Master and Teacher

Suggested Donation: $15 (members $12)


The work Reiki means “universal life force energy” and is a form of hands on healing which originated in Japan with Mikao Usui in the 1800’s. The National Institutes of Health now classify Reiki as a Biofield Medicine. Reiki is gaining ever wider acceptance in the medical establishment as a complementary/integrative medicine and is being used as an adjunct for the care of cancer patients, in hospice work, during labor and delivery, to relieve stress and emotional trauma, and to aid in emotional and physical healing.This workshop will explore the history of Reiki, its healing potential, its uses in self-healing, healing animals, healing others, and distance healing, as well as sharing insights into a hands on Reiki healing session.


Cobblestone Weekend ( #383)

A weekend of hard work spiced with fellowship and fun. Organized work projects interspersed with fellowship, shared reflection, meals, and conversation. Experience the satisfaction of helping to make Cobblestone Springs a reality.


Know Yourself ( #384)

When: Saturday, June 16, 9:00 am to 12 noon

Facilitator: Jeanne Judson

Suggested Donation: $15 per session (members $12.50)


You are invited to embark on an inner journey by traveling into the understanding of your personality with the use of sacred psychology called Enneagram. It is a wholistic understanding of personality and essence. You will discover and understand your personality type, strengths, weaknesses, signals for stress and security, centers of knowing and the spark of the divine that is uniquely yours. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunches and enjoy the grounds after the program.
